Eugene (Hugh) Wilfred Gallaher

Born September 20, 1919 in Strathroy to Eugene Owen and Catherine (Begley) Gallaher, passed peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2009. Loved by the Gallaher family including many nieces and nephews, and by the Wawrysh and Watral/Size families. Grateful friend of the family of Bill Wilson for over 55 years. Hugh flew as a wireless air gunner with the 422 squadron of the RCAF overseas in WWII. Avid boater, fisherman and friend to many. Predeceased by his four loving sisters, Norma Muxlow (1993) of Strathroy, Frances Ryan (1994) of Oshawa, Lenore Hanley (1995) of Oshawa and Catherine Gallaher (1999) of London, his niece Nancy Muxlow Ayr (1989) and his nephew Jim Ryan . At Hugh’s request, there will be no visitation. A celebration of Hugh’s life will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009, 12 noon, at the Mocha Shrine Centre, 468 Colborne Street.
